EDIT: So we just got back from SDCC 2011, where we launched an IFS edition of Heavy Metal magazine! It will be released as the September 2011 issue.

Here's a pretty generous sneak peak: [link]

The aesthetics of this sorta reminds me of Mobile Infantry suits from the anime adaptation of Starship Troopers: [link]. Pretty cool.

The future of warfare. I see hundreds of these deployed and the operators seating behind a console working like a video game. For peacefull exploration the concept is great, but when mankind gets his hands on the thecnology for warfare. wELL THE RESULTS ARE ..... Still neat concept.!!!

Haha aye :)Well if it keeps the human factor off the battlefields maybe it'd be a different way to settle our differences in the future! Wishful thinking..

If it could be done in say a desert, then it is worth it.

Congratulations on your proffessional success. I love this issue of Heavy Metal, it is one of the best that I've seen. This story was so vivid and realistic.

It was totally worth it. I'm going to figure out a submerging angle for my own graphic novel to engage the audience the same way you have. I was watching Quarantine and the subjective camera p.o.v. was perfect for the cinematic experience.

I liked the way that it was prepared as a debriefing to help audiences submerge themselves into the conflict. Also near the end when the fighting robots were using real human mechanics against the undead horde made it seem possible for the army guys to take greater risks to potentially end the conflict if they would just get out of their comfort zones.
