Now that Galaxies is officially defunct, I thought it safe to post some of my favourite illustrations here for posterity sake..!

Working on this franchise for close to 2 years really helped me grow as a creative and allowed me to explore many aspects of the craft-- its not often you get to play the role of illustrator, story-teller and designer within a single commission. It was truly rewarding in hindsight and more often that not, a very humbling experience when you witness the sheer quality and passion of other fellow creatives working on the same project, really inspires you to stretch yourself beyond the usual bounds!

PEW!! PEW!! PEW!! :) Who needs Jedi when you have a robot? Nice work!!

That's technically so true. Jedi's shouldnt be able to move at the kinds of speeds that robotics can... but alas in SW the robots are just slowpokes and clunky. Wonder why they are so fixated on that style of robotics.

Well, the human body IS pretty remarkable- silent, able to repair itself, covered in sensors, and capable of finding its own sources of chemical energy. And, of course, intelligent in a way no computer is yet. Robots today are doing their best to copy us at everything from manipulating objects to eating (look up EATR, a robot that is supposed to consume organic matter for fuel). Someday those 'bots will catch up with us, though.

A society with intelligent robots, hyperdrive, and replacement limbs as capable as the original body part should be able to make some nimble robots for combat. All the droids are far clumsier than you'd expect- C-3P0 was a home build, I guess, but even the astromech droids seem to be designed to be harmless and clumsy. Maybe this is a cultural thing, droids are a lowly slave class in the SWs galaxy, so they tend to build droids that aren't too Terminator-like and threatening for their owners? C-3P0 isn't really good for anything but translating duties, and astromechs seem to be designed for snubfighter hangers, with those clumsy wheels.
