was thinking of short stories in camp, decided to do a quickie sketch of some visuals! PS CS 1 hr (for those who ask, no custom brushes for this one)

The Red Moon is a short story of a lazy space cat, a n00b warbot(yes there are!) and a pleasure monk being summoned as conscripts in a seemingly never-ending war on a chewed-on moon (by some enormous space worm a long time ago). With little to no training between the three of them, they have to find a way to stay alive and meet the bodycount to clear themselves of active duty.

What was the original resolution you used for something like this?

Awesome. Did you teach yourself, take classes, internet tutorials?

Self taught through observation and terrible patience. Went to a school that taught animation but it was more of a general introduction to digital media type course. Being younger and even stupider, I never saw the importance of solid foundation study and just drew and painted what I liked. It worked out to a certain extent, but once I turned pro all these things start catching up to you and now they're a big black mark in my personal conscience. Anyways...I was doing lowpoly 3D to begin with (working on mods for older games like HL1) and subsequently got interested in texturing... and then eventually painting and illustration. If i had a choice I would probably want to be a LEGO designer or something.

Oh. Yeah I read some tutorials online, but none that helped me as much as studying works of others'. :) Things are very different now, with the digital illustration community so much more advanced and education is so easy to access.

Interesting insights, I appreciate them. I think I draw decently well (at least when I have ref material) but have never done much in terms of color and the like, but I definitely want to learn how to masterfully and beautifully wield my stylus like you and others who own up the PS Airbrush world. Any thoughts how to get from sketch artist to air brush master? Haha.

I'll let you know if I ever get anywhere close. In all seriousness though -practice hard, study smart.
